Install OptionsWheelTrader as a PWA on Desktop and Mobile
April 13, 2026
Introduction
Options Wheel Trader is a progressive web app (PWA). That means you can use it in the browser as usual, or you can install it so it behaves more like a native app: its own window, an icon on your taskbar, dock, or home screen, and less browser UI in the way. Nothing extra is downloaded from an app store for the install itself. You sign in the same way you do on the website, and your data stays tied to your account.
This guide walks through install and daily use on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Steps depend on your browser and operating system, because each platform labels the action a little differently (“Install,” “Add to Home Screen,” “Add to Dock,” and so on).
Before you start
- Use a supported browser. Installation works best in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari (especially on Apple devices). Other Chromium browsers often behave like Chrome.
- Visit the real site. Open Options Wheel Trader in the browser and sign in if you need to. The install option appears from the same origin as the app (the live product URL you already use).
- Know what “install” does. After installation, opening the shortcut launches the app in its own window, usually standalone mode (minimal browser UI). You are still using the web app; updates roll out when you use the site and the service updates.
Windows
These steps assume Chrome or Edge. They are the most common browsers on Windows for PWAs.
Install (Chrome)
- Open Options Wheel Trader in Google Chrome.
- Look for the install affordance:
- Often an install icon in the right side of the address bar (a monitor or plus symbol, depending on version), or
- The three-dot menu (⋮) → Save and share → Install Options Wheel Trader (wording may say “Install page as…” or similar).
- Confirm in the dialog. Windows may show a Start menu entry and optionally a desktop shortcut.
- Launch the app from the Start menu, desktop shortcut, or pinned taskbar icon if you chose to pin it.
Install (Edge)
- Open the site in Microsoft Edge.
- Use either:
- The App available or install icon in the address bar, or
- Settings and more (⋯) → Apps → Install this site as an app (exact labels can vary slightly by Edge version).
- Confirm the name and install. Edge will create shortcuts you can open like any other Windows app.
After installation
- Open Options Wheel Trader from the shortcut. It should open in its own window without the full browser tab strip.
- Updates: Keep using the installed app as normal. When the site ships new versions, the next launch after a refresh cycle typically picks them up (same as using the site in a browser).
- Uninstall: Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Options Wheel Trader (or the name shown at install), and Uninstall. You can also remove shortcuts from the Start menu or desktop only; that does not always remove the underlying app entry, so use Settings if you want it fully removed.
macOS
On the Mac, Chrome and Edge follow a pattern similar to Windows. Safari has its own flow for web apps and works well if you prefer Apple’s browser.
Install (Chrome or Edge)
- Open Options Wheel Trader in Chrome or Edge.
- Open the browser menu:
- Chrome: File or the three-dot menu → look for Install Options Wheel Trader or Save and share → Install.
- Edge: ⋯ → Apps → Install this site as an app (or use an install prompt in the address bar if shown).
- Confirm. macOS will place the app in Applications (or offer to), and you can add it to the Dock.
Install (Safari)
Apple has expanded support for installing websites as apps in recent macOS versions. Exact menu names can change between OS releases.
- Open Options Wheel Trader in Safari.
- Use the File menu and look for an option such as Add to Dock or Add to Home Screen / web app wording for the current site (Apple labels this around Safari 17 and later for eligible PWAs).
- Confirm. The app appears in the Dock and often under Applications as a web app.
If you do not see an install option, use Chrome or Edge on macOS, or ensure macOS and Safari are updated.
After installation
- Launch from the Dock or Applications. The window should run standalone (no Safari/Chrome tab bar in the same form as a normal tab).
- Uninstall: Remove the web app from Applications or the Dock, or use Finder → Applications and delete the web app bundle if one was created. For browser-installed PWAs, the browser’s manage apps or site settings may also list uninstall options.
iOS (iPhone and iPad)
On iOS, third-party browsers use WebKit, and the reliable way to put a shortcut on your home screen with a full-screen feel is still Safari’s Add to Home Screen. Treat this as “installing” the PWA on Apple mobile devices.
Add to Home Screen (Safari)
- Open Options Wheel Trader in Safari (not only in-app browsers inside other apps).
- Tap the Share button (square with arrow pointing up).
- Scroll the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Edit the name if you like (for example “Wheel Trader”), then tap Add.
- Find the new icon on your home screen (or App Library on iPhone). Tap it to open the site. iOS opens it like a focused web experience; behavior matches what Safari supports for that site.
Chrome or Edge on iOS
If you use Chrome or Edge on iPhone or iPad, look for Share → Add to Home Screen in the share menu when the option exists. If it does not appear, use Safari for this step.
After adding
- The home screen icon opens Options Wheel Trader in Safari’s web view. You still sign in with your normal account.
- Updates arrive when you load the site; pull to refresh if something looks stale.
- To remove the shortcut, long-press the icon → Remove App → Remove from Home Screen (wording may vary slightly by iOS version).
Android
Google Chrome on Android has the most straightforward PWA install flow.
Install (Chrome)
- Open Options Wheel Trader in Chrome.
- When the site is eligible, you may see an Install banner or an Add to Home screen message. If not, open the three-dot menu (⋮).
- Tap Install app or Add to Home screen / Install (labels vary by Chrome version).
- Confirm. The Play Store is not required for this; it is still the same web app.
- Find the new icon in your app drawer or home screen.
Other browsers
Edge, Samsung Internet, and other Chromium-based browsers often expose a similar Install or Add to Home screen item in their menu. Pick the option that adds the site as an app or shortcut with the product name.
After installation
- Tap the icon to open in a standalone-style window when the PWA supports it.
- Updates apply when you use the app, like other PWAs.
- To uninstall, long-press the app icon → App info or Uninstall, or remove the shortcut and clear site data in Chrome → Settings → Site settings if you need a full reset for that origin.
Using the installed app day to day
- Same account, same workflows. Installation does not change billing or features. You use Reports, Portfolio, Trades, and the rest the same way.
- Notifications. If Options Wheel Trader adds or changes web push behavior in the future, you would manage permissions in the browser or system settings for that site. Until then, rely on your usual routines for expirations and checks.
- Multiple devices. You can install on both a phone and a desktop; each shortcut is just another way to open the same service.
- Troubleshooting. If the installed app looks wrong after an update, open the site once in a normal browser tab, refresh, then try the installed shortcut again. Clearing cache for the site (browser settings) fixes stubborn cases without affecting other sites if you scope it to Options Wheel Trader only. If you continue to have issues, contact us.
Summary
| Platform | Typical path |

| iOS | Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen |
| Android | Chrome → Install app or Add to Home screen from the menu or banner |
Installing Options Wheel Trader as a PWA is optional, but it keeps the tool one click away and a bit cleaner on screen while you manage the wheel and your positions.
